The History of Grandpa's Gourmet

After first enjoying a steak flavored with the sweetnessof teriyaki, Grandpa was determined to develop a personal recipe for this great essence. Grandpa developed his delicious teriyaki sauce, and now it is the most cultivated teriyaki sauce in the Northwest.

Grandpa first began testing his teriyaki recipe at the Portland Rose Festival in 1969. In the year of the largest concert in history, and the first lunar landing, the most memorable moment for some, was enjoying Grandpa's gourmet teriyaki beef and chicken delights for the first time.

Grandpa's gourmet teriyaki sauce was a noted attraction at the Portland Rose Festival, even to the point that a crowd of people ran past Grandpa one day as he was going for more supplies. The pack was hurrying to get in line, knowing if they didn't they had a long wait for the taste of teriyaki.

Grandpa now has four unique flavors, Teriyaki, Hazelnut, Almond-Curry, and Texas Style Barbecue. Grandpa describes the Almond-Curry as "spicy, but not hot", the Hazelnut as "sweet", the Barbecue as "sweet with a bite" and the Teriyaki as "yummy."
